Gone badly? [4]

Disappearing is rarely a crime, so that “badly” actually helps to goodly narrow things down. Setting aside convicts or escaped prisoners, though, the term used for someone who goes away without permission is “absent without official leave,” or as you’ve more commonly heard it, AWOL.
