Stick with it [4]

Sometimes it helps to rephrase the clue, shaking it out of familiar associations–to, in this case, literally not stick with it. Instead, think of what the “it” might be that you use to stick things. Now it’s not such a sticky wicket anymore–it’s just TAPE.
